The managers are involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The managers support the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

I have been working as a qualified Physician Associate since 2021 after completing my masters at Manchester University. I work across Rossendale for the PCN in four practices. We see mostly acute on the day patients however have been involved in learning disability reviews, ovarian cancer screening pilot study and various other reviews. I completed my cytology smear training this year and have an interest in women’s health.

Hello, my name is Shaila I am the First Contact Physiotherapist at Hazel Valley Family Practice. I have been a qualified Physiotherapist for almost 8 years. I have experience in critical care, intensive care and acute medicine therefore, I can recognise any emergency problems and assist in getting you the right help. I have specialised in Musculoskeletal for the past 6 years. My role in primary care is to provide specialist advice and help diagnose, assess and manage any problems relating to the bones, soft tissue, and joints. My specialities include sports injuries, whiplash, strains, sprains, arthritis, acute pain and chronic pain. I am at Hazelvalley every Tuesday and Friday, there’s no need to get a referral via GP just book in with me directly through reception.

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Reception/Care Navigators

Care Navigators provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Care Navigators make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries.
